Orchard Beach Pavilion

The Bronx’s Beach Is Back and It’s Better Than Ever.

The wait is over. After 17 years closed to the public, Orchard Beach Pavilion has reopened. And it is everything this community deserves.

On May 20, 2026, the fully restored 140,000-square-foot landmark at Pelham Bay, The Bronx officially reopened. The result of a $114 million reconstruction led by NYC Parks and NYCEDC, the Pavilion is back, and this summer it is fully alive.

What’s New

The original 1936 Art Deco bones are still here. The striking columns, limestone cladding, bright blue tiles and terrazzo floors. What’s changed is everything around them.

Restored roofs, columns and terracotta. New ADA-accessible ramps on both the landside entrance and the beachside plaza. New trees, upgraded lighting and fully renovated restroom facilities. The upper balconies are open with views straight out to the Long Island Sound. And this summer, the Loggia and Snack Bar areas open for the first time, run by us at Unwind Hospitality Group in partnership with local Bronx vendors. The full restaurant follows in 2027.
